Danny’s road to success started during his years playing quarterback and the University of Oklahoma from 1981 – 1984. Playing under and being mentored by Coach Barry Switzer and Offensive Coordinator's Galen Hall and Mack Brown has had a profound impact on Danny’s life and set him on the right path for the adventure he was about to endure. After leading the Sooners to the Orange Bowl and a shot at the NCAA National Championship in 1984, Danny was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams to play in the NFL. During his brief NFL career, he played with the LA Rams and the Detroit Lions.

Unlike so many NFL players, Danny made a commendable transition from football to business. He first owned and operated Bedford Professional Athletic Club (BPAC). A 50,000 square foot, multi-purpose health and fitness facility with over 5,000 members. BPAC, under Danny's leadership grew into being one of the largest health club in Dallas/Ft. Worth and the state of Texas, generating over $1.1 million a year in revenues annually. There he learned the ins and outs of running a successful business. After being offered a position created by the NFL Management Council with the Dallas Cowboys, Danny sold the health club to take on this new exciting venture. As Director of Player Development with the Dallas Cowboys he implemented programs that aided players in getting prepared for life after football. He handled everything from internship programs, continuing education, financial planning, and family affairs. While with the Cowboys, he also assisted with a host of draft day assignments and assisted Jerry Jones with other projects regarding marketing and endorsement campaigns with companies like American Express, AT&T, Pepsi, and Nike.

Upon his leaving the Dallas Cowboys, Danny became one of the most successful marketing agents in the country. His company, The Sports Group, became well known for its ability to negotiate, create, and implement marketing programs that benefited both the athlete and the endorsement companies. His passion for helping others become financially successful was apparent. As Executive Senior Director with Excel Communications, a $2.5 billion, publicly held company, he structured, negotiated, and implemented a marketing contract for NBA superstar Scottie Pippen equaling one of the largest in telecom history. He also sat on the Board of Directors of Maximum Benefits Company (MBC), a national marketing company where a host of other marketing contracts were negotiated for NFL, NBA, and MLB players.

Some of his many accomplishments also include Super Bowl XXX Champion – Dallas Cowboys 1995 (Player Development Director), Western Divisional Champion – Los Angeles Rams 1985, Big 8 Conference MVP / Offensive Player of the Year 1984, ABC & CBS Chevrolet Player of the Game Awards 1983-84 (University of Oklahoma), several Bowl appearances including 1985 Orange Bowl, 1985 Japan Bowl (College All-Star Game), 1983 Fiesta Bowl, and 1982 Sun Bowl. He was also an Arkansas High School All-American in 1980 and the states All-Star Game MVP in 1981.

Danny is a Certified Player Agent and contract advisor with the NFL Players Association, and has several years of experience managing the affairs of professional athletes. He has everything needed to provide The Sports Group’s clients the best representation in all areas of their lives – professional sports career, financial planning, family affairs, and life after sports. From the from the NFL locker room to the NFL boardroom, Danny’s distinct experience separates him from the rest of the pack. He is simply the ideal representation for the professional athlete.
